The ‘Schoolhouse’ is a newly constructed modern home designed around the principle of adaptive re-use, and offers you a unique architectural living space in a prime location; 10 minutes from the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, 2 minutes to downtown Joshua tree cafes and shopping, 15 minutes to Yucca Valley and 45 minutes to Palm Springs.

The space

This quiet and private property is bordered by dramatic rock outcroppings, hiking trails, and expansive views of the Mojave Desert valley on the north side. One unique feature of this home is its floor-to-ceiling glass walls; you’ll have an unobstructed experience of the desert landscape in all its glory--star-filled skies, magnificent boulders, and wildlife galore! Jackrabbits, quails, roadrunners, chipmunks, albino lizards, rosy boas, coyotes, and more are frequently seen in and around the property.

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath home can accommodate up to four adult guests and children older than 10 years! The bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms are situated at opposite ends of the living/dining area for privacy. Premium queen and full-size hybrid mattresses (encased in hygienic waterproof mattress protectors) and 100% cotton sheets/bedding are provided for your sleeping comfort.

Two outside decks, a plunge pool, and an outdoor shower allow you to enjoy indoor/outdoor desert living.

Joshua Tree National Park is open year-round. There are few facilities within the park's approximately 800,000 acres, making Joshua Tree a true desert wilderness just a few hours outside Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. About 2.8 million visitors come to the park each year to enjoy activities such as hiking, camping, photography, rock climbing, and simply enjoying the serene desert scenery. The busy season in Joshua Tree runs from October through May. You can enjoy activities like Camping, Hiking, Ranger Programs, Photography, Birding, Experience dark Night Skies, Biking, Rock Climbing, Backpacking, and Horse Riding! Come visit.

Guest at school house may use joshua tree park annual pass card for free as long you return it back otherwise will charge you the cost of loosing the card $80

The architect who embraces this philosophy, the house acquired prefabricated metal classroom structures, cement board panels, concrete drain pipes, and other materials destined for the landfill, and transformed them into an environmentally conductive, and aesthetically pleasing dwelling for your enjoyment.
